Figs for Sale

The fig is the edible fruit of Ficus carica, a species of small tree in the flowering plant family Moraceae. Native to the Mediterranean and western Asia, it has been cultivated since ancient times and is now widely grown throughout the world, both for its fruit and as an ornamental plant.

Black Mission Fig (aka Beer's Black, Violette)

A fine, large, black fig that is a splendid performer. The deep red flesh is sweet and has a distinct flavor. It has a medium sized eye and is excellent either fresh or dried. Fairly hardy and well adapted to the South and Southwest, Various shades of red pulp. The sweet dark figs of Mission are the number one favorite for drying. Mission is one of the most widely grown figs in California producing heavy crops of medium to large dark purplish-black pear-shaped fruit with a rich, sweet strawberry red pulp. Good fresh or preserved. Rumor has it that the Black Mission, or more correctly the Franciscana Fig, was carried to a mission in San Diego around 1768 by Franciscan monks from Baja California.

GE Neri - Italian Fig

Very sweet and large, tennis ball sized fruit, zone 7-10. The somewhat rare GE Neri Fig produces exceptionally large crimson and purple colored on the outside with reddish inner flesh that’s very sweet. Some resources tout this as the world's largest fig. GE Neri is an Italian fig growing in zones 7-10.

Olympian Fig

‘Olympian’ is a ultra cold hardy fig & absolutely delicious. This fig produces very sweet fruits with thin purple skin with a red to violet flesh. Very good pest, disease resistance. Excellent heat and cold resistance. Poor wet soil resistance. Very good salt tolerance.

Violet De Boardeaux Fig

Widely regarded—and beloved—as the finest tasting fig, ‘Violette de Bordeaux’ produces a small abundance of small to medium size purple-black fruit with a very deep red strawberry pulp and out of this world , sweet, rich flavor. Hardy 6-10’ self-fruiting plants produce a harvest of fruit that can be enjoyed fresh or dried. Plants will thrive in extremes of heat, humidity, and drought; very good resistance to pests and disease.Large almost black fruit with a very deep red pulp and a distinctive, but agreeable acid flavor.
